The British Council hosted the UK Alumni Networking Event, in partnership with the British Embassy, at the Katara Cultural Village Amphitheatre, the strategic partner for the event.

The event honoured Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle, MP, in the presence of British Council Country Director Dr Waseem Kotoub, the British Ambassador to Qatar HE Neerav Patel, and General Manager of Katara Cultural Village Foundation HE Dr Khalid Bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti.

The event celebrated the British Council’s 90th anniversary of empowering young people in arts, education, and English language learning. It acknowledged the achievements of UK Alumni in Qatar and marked the launch of the Study UK Alumni Awards 2025, honouring outstanding contributions by UK graduates to their communities and industries.

The evening began with a networking reception, followed by a speech from Dr Waseem Kotoub, where he highlighted the strong Education ties between UK and Qatar, with UK being a top education destination choice for students studying in Qatar.
