The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) pavilion at ConteQ 2024 showcases initiatives that support technology and innovation in the construction and services sectors, with a focus on digital transformation and the adoption of modern technologies. It also highlights the services offered to both local and international investors, particularly small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, ConteQ 2024 was launched on Monday at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as the host. Today is the last day of the event.

Part of the MoCI’s pavilion is dedicated to promoting laws that encourage foreign investment. These laws are in place to regulate non-Qatari investment that allow for outright ownership by foreigners of their businesses in various sectors of Qatar’s economy. The laws also extend to governing non-Qatari ownership of real estate and public-private partnerships.

The Ministry is also participating in a panel discussion entitled ‘Policy Unlocks to Drive Innovation and Entrepreneurship’, discussing how initiatives designed to facilitate business operations are now easily accessible by the business and investment community. These include the ‘Single Window’ platform and other electronic services that are now in place on the Ministry’s official website and through their mobile app.

The Ministry’s pavilion includes several partners and stakeholders who have come together to boost attendance and promote Qatar as an outstanding destination for business, trade and investment. These include the Investment Promotion Agency, Qatar Free Zones Authority, and Qatar Financial Centre, representing a common objective that is underpinned by digital transformation.

It is worth noting that the ConteQ 2024 Expo is a culmination of efforts by four governmental entities, namely, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Labour, and the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal.’

The event represents a promising opportunity to attract inward investments to Qatar and contributes to enhancing the country’s national capabilities and advancing sustainable development.
