The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) is hosting a two-day workshop, inviting all postal service providers to discuss the draft postal service licences that were previously released for public consultation.

The workshop will also cover the feedback and comments that CRA received from stakeholders, with the aim of finalising the terms and conditions of these licences, ensuring they are comprehensive and aligned with the specific needs of this dynamic sector.

The workshop aims to facilitate open dialogue between CRA and postal service providers by offering them a platform to discuss relevant issues in relation to the draft proposed licences. It will also provide an opportunity for service providers to clarify any concerns about the draft licences, as well as to enhance their understanding of the obligations and responsibilities that will be required, once the new licences come into effect.

This will also be an opportunity to obtain an overview of other regulations that CRA will issue and are relevant for the provision of postal services.

The workshop represents a key step that reaffirms CRA’s ongoing commitment to establishing a transparent and well-regulated postal market through the issuance of comprehensive and detailed licences that are compliant with the provisions of the Postal Services Regulation Law and creating a balance between the obligations of service providers and consumer rights, while at the same time promoting competition, innovation, efficiency and sustainability in the postal services sector, contributing to fulfilment of the broader goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Digital Agenda 2030.
