Nigerian community football competition kicks off new edition

The Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation–Qatar (NIDO-Qatar) kicked off the Late Ambassador Abdullahi Wase Football Competition in Doha. The opening weekend of the tournament which celebrates the life and impact of the late Nigerian envoy will have 18 teams participate with the final scheduled for November.

Organisers highlighted the importance of community events in Qatar to foster connectivity and create safe environments for people to interact. The opening was attended by officials of the Nigerian embassy in Qatar, representative of the Ministry of Labour in Qatar, and other dignitaries.
