The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), under the aegis of the Embassy of India in Qatar, hosted a session titled ‘Space and the Future of Humanity’, led by renowned Indian scientist, Padma Bhushan Dr. Sivathanu Pillai, Founder CEO and MD of BrahMos Aerospace. The event, held in the ICC premises, attracted many members of the Indian diaspora, particularly students.

In his inspiring talk, Dr. Pillai explored the vast potential of space exploration and its significance for humanity’s future. He shared his experiences working with the late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, emphasising the importance of innovation, research, and global cooperation in space science. Dr Pillai’s motivational speech encouraged students to pursue careers in science and technology, as they play a crucial role in shaping the future.

ICC President AP Manikantan honoured Dr Pillai with a felicitation, recognising his immense contributions to India’s space and defense sectors. ICC Vice President Subramanya Hebbagelu, General Secretary Mohan Kumar, ICC Managing Committee members, Advisory Council members, and Indian community leaders were also present on the occasion.
