Qatar Museums (QM) has announced the generous donation of two vehicles from Al Abdulghani Motors, which will play a crucial role in the Qatar Museums Volunteer Programme which is primarily sponsored by ConocoPhillips Qatar.

This donation aligns with Abdulghani Motors’ commitment to corporate social responsibility, with the vehicles being vital to the operations of the newly launched Qatar Museums Community Service Section. These buses will facilitate the transportation of volunteers to archaeological sites, public art installations, and cultural institutions across Qatar, ensuring that volunteer activities can be efficiently carried out. The vehicles have been enhanced with LED screens, 5G connections, and other flexible display capabilities that will allow QM to conduct a variety of experiential educational programmes in remote locations such as schools and archeological sites.

As the main sponsor of the Qatar Museums Volunteer Programme, ConocoPhillips Qatar funding made possible the refit of the donated vehicles to meet the specific requirements of the programme. This collaboration reflects a shared vision of promoting community engagement and cultural preservation, which is central to the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The launch took place at the National Museum of Qatar and was attended by Mohammed Saad Al-Rumaihi, chief executive officer of Qatar Museums, and Abdul Ghani Nasser Al Abdul Ghani, chief executive officer of Abdulghani Motors.

Mohammed Saad Al-Rumaihi expressed his deep appreciation for the sponsors’ commitment. He said, “We are honoured to be in a space where organisations from different industries are extending their support to our operations. I am looking forward to the inaugurations as important milestones for our future vision.”

Regarding the partnership, Abdul Ghani Nasser Al Abdu Ghani said: “We are delighted to include this educational and cultural collaboration in our community service programmes, in line with our commitment to innovation in the mobility sector, and our continuous endeavour to participate in delivering benefits to all groups across Qatar.”

These vehicles will play a pivotal role in programmes such as ‘Youth Hub’, which engages schools and universities, and ‘Darb Al Matahef’, which promotes Qatar’s archaeology and culture. This contribution underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving Qatar’s cultural and educational goals.
