Mada Assistive Technology Centre of the Ministry of Social Development and Family launched the third edition of the quarterly event ‘Nafath Majlis’. The event aims to promote digital inclusion through assistive technology.

This event coincided with the International Week of Deaf People under the title ‘Sign Language Processing’, sponsored by the Community College of Qatar, and the Qatar Manpower Solutions Company (Jusour), with the participation of a number of Arab experts specialized in the field of ICT access and assistive technology.

The third edition of the Nafath Majlis included interactive dialogue sessions, where experts discussed the latest research and innovations in the field of sign language processing using artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, in addition to studying the challenges facing the development of these solutions in the Arab world and ways to overcome them.

It focused on recent innovations in the field of automated sign language processing using artificial intelligence technologies, and information technology applications that contribute to enabling people with hearing disabilities to communicate more effectively with digital communities.

During the event, the latest technological solutions were reviewed to develop advanced systems capable of automatically translating sign language, which contributes to improving the quality of life and enhancing social and professional interaction for deaf people.

In his speech on the occasion, Head of the Technology Department at the Community College, Dr. Abdullah Al Ghashami emphasized that individuals with disabilities represent a significant segment of society.

He stressed the importance of providing them with assistive technology, especially in our rapidly advancing technological age, noting that such technology is vital for daily living and for fostering an environment that enables people with disabilities to fully integrate and achieve independence in all areas of life.

For its part, Qatari Manpower Solutions Company stated, “we are proud and honoured at Jusour to be part of the success of this special day with Mada Centre, which focuses on the importance of electronic access in information and communication technology and assistive technology, as well as automated processing of sign language.

Through this cooperation, we seek to raise awareness and empower individuals from all backgrounds.

The ‘Sahem’ program, provided by Jusour, provides job opportunities for people with disabilities in the private sector, and enables them to contribute to society.”

Jusour’s participation in sponsoring this event comes within the framework of the company’s social responsibility, believing that technology should be available to everyone, and seeking to create an inclusive environment that supports innovation and ensures everyone’s access to resources and services.

The Community College hosted the third edition of the Nafath Majlis as part of its strategic partnership with the Mada Centre, underscoring its commitment to promoting digital inclusion for individuals with disabilities.

The college aims to support research, innovations, and initiatives that improve access to digital resources and assistive technology. Additionally, the Qatari Company for Manpower Solutions (Josour) participated as a media sponsor for the forum.
