Minister of Communications and Information Technology HE Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai held significant discussions with global technology leaders during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meetings focused on fostering collaboration, advancing digital transformation, and building stronger partnerships, aligning with Qatar’s National Vision and Digital Agenda 2030.

On the fourth day of the General Assembly, Al Mannai met with Brad Smith, president of Microsoft Corporation, to discuss enhancing Qatar’s cloud computing infrastructure and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced cloud technologies. They also explored opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and deepen cooperation between Qatar and Microsoft.

Al Mannai also met with Mohamed Kande, global chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where they discussed collaboration in system integration and AI-driven digital innovation. The conversation highlighted AI’s pivotal role in addressing digital transformation challenges and enhancing business efficiency through advanced technologies.

Further, the minister met with Arvind Krishna, chairman and CEO of IBM, where discussions centred on AI solutions, quantum computing for the government sector, and digital inclusion. Both sides considered new avenues for collaboration.

In another key meeting, Al Mannai met Julie Sweet, president and CEO of Accenture, to review the progress of the digital factory project and explore the best digital solutions for improving user experiences and enhancing the quality of government services.

Additionally, the minister held talks with Joseph Ucuzoglu, global CEO of Deloitte. Their discussion focused on system integration, AI-powered consulting services, risk management, business continuity, and resilience planning in response to global challenges.

These meetings reflect the ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships, drive innovation, and bolster digital infrastructure, contributing to the national development goals set out in Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Digital Agenda 2030. The discussions underscore Qatar’s commitment to adopting and developing cutting-edge technologies to promote sustainability, innovation, and global competitiveness across sectors.
