Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari met separately with Minister of Health of Algeria Abdelhak Saihi, Minister of Health of Latvia Dr Hosam Abu Meri and CEO of the Pandemic Fund Ms Priya Basu, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meetings reviewed the relations between Qatar and both Algeria and Latvia in the health sector.
Additionally, the cooperation between Qatar and the Pandemic Fund was reviewed. The Fund, established in September 2022, is a multilateral financing mechanism aimed at providing multi-year grants to support low- and middle-income countries in enhancing their preparedness against future pandemics.
