The Punjab Music Group (PMG) recently organised a function to honour Pakistan's renowned singer Nadeem Abbas who arrived in Doha on a short private visit.
During the reception, music lovers and Abbas' fans earnestly requested him to perform in Doha, to which the singer agreed. Abbas will have two shows, one exclusively for families and the other for general audience. The shows will be Abbas' maiden performance in the city.
Abbas has over 50 albums to his credit. He actively participates in Pakistani television and radio programmes.
He started his career with Pakistan Television, Lahore when he was only seven years old. He learned classical music from various music teachers including Ustad Afzal Khan and Ustad Hafeez Khan. Following in the footsteps of his father Allah Ditta Loony Wala, he released several music albums comprising folk and pop infusion.
His famous song Bismillah Karan set a YouTube record for being the first Pakistani Music video to have millions of views. His other popular numbers include Gaddi Tun Manga De, Jaanu Nahi Banada and Piyara Lagda Hein.
Besides classical and folk music, Abbas has also sung sufi, ghazal and qawwali and proved his mettle in all the genres. He has performed in several countries including the UK, USA, Europe, Australia, Canada and India.
