The Prime Minister of Lebanon’s Caretaker government Najib Mikati said that the number of displaced persons in the country is approaching one million, the largest in Lebanon’s history.

During a press conference on Sunday following the Government Emergency Committee meeting, Mikati stressed that the government ismaking all efforts to meet the urgent needs of displacedpersons within available means.

He also said that the entry of donations will be facilitated on the condition that the donor and the donation-granting administration are known.

The Caretaker PM added that a meeting will be held with donor countries and agencies to ask them to help at this critical stage. Mikati continued, "We will not hesitate for a moment to pursue the diplomatic role, and we have no choice but the diplomatic option.”

He also said that he will call for a ceasefire on all fronts, including in Gaza. Page 5
