Al Wakrah will face a tough test in the second round of AFC Champions League Two (Group A) against FC Ravshan of Tajikistan at the Central Republican Stadium in Dushanbe on Wednesday. The kick-off is at 5pm.

Al Wakrah will strive hard to achieve their first win after losing to Tractor SC of Iran in their opener on September 18, 2024 at the Al Janoub Stadium. The Blue Wave will look to hold on to the opportunity to stay in contention for qualification for the next round.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant of India are the other team in the group.

Tractor lead the group with three points followed by Ravshan and Mohun Bagan who are on one point each, while Al Wakrah are in fourth and last place.

Al Wakrah are preparing strongly for this important match after achieving their second consecutive victory in the Ooredoo Stars League under national coach Ali Rahma Al Marri, who took over the task from Spaniard Miguel Angel who was in charge of Tractor SC game.

Speaking on eve of the match, Coach Ali Rahma Al Marri said, "We are ready for the match and we look forward to winning and correcting the course to revive our hopes of qualifying for the next round of the tournament.”

Al Wakrah had beaten Al Rayyan and Al Khor in Week 5 and 6 respectively of Ooredoo Stars League in the lead-up to FC Ravshan clash and are looking forward to seizing their first three points.
