Qatar Academy Msheireb marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its 10th anniversary. The event brought together students, teachers, and staff to reflect on a decade of progress and achievement, highlighting the school’s commitment to community and academic excellence.

As part of the celebration, students showcased their creativity through artworks reflecting their excitement for the 10th anniversary. Created using sustainable materials, the pieces highlighted the school’s commitment to environmental responsibility. Activities hosted throughout the day included drawing, colouring, and hands-on crafts, with each student proudly contributing to the school’s legacy.

Dina Samha, an English homeroom teacher, at Qatar Academy Msheireb (QAM), part of the Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, said: “It’s incredible how quickly time has flown. Ten years have passed, and I’m amazed by how much has changed. The children who started with us are now high school seniors, and witnessing their growth has been truly remarkable.

“The school has made tremendous progress over the years and continues to grow and improve each year. Everything we do is focused on enhancing the children’s learning experience. What brings me the most joy is seeing the students when they first arrive, watching them grow, learn, and achieve their goals by the end of the year. That transformation in the children is incredibly rewarding.”

Samha acknowledged that through collaboration and a shared vision, the team worked together, investing significantly in professional development to ensure alignment with the school’s mission and the broader community’s needs.

“Our community has always been grounded in positivity and collaboration. We work together to make improvements, viewing challenges as opportunities for growth, and this mindset has been key in helping teachers, staff, and students develop.”

Reflecting on her journey over the past ten years, Amal Khamis El Hafy, the national subjects coordinator at QAM, said, “I feel proud and honoured to be part of QAM and Qatar Foundation. It’s inspiring to know that we’re not only contributing to education in Qatar but also making an impact on the community and beyond.

“What excites me the most is witnessing constant development and innovation. Being part of this evolving institution, we are always encouraged to stay up to date with global educational trends and embrace new ideas and projects.”

Reminiscing, she said, “I have countless beautiful memories from my years at the school, especially moments with the students. One that stands out is from last year when I taught a second-grade student, whose mother I had taught at a previous school. It was a full-circle moment that reminded me why I’m so passionate about teaching.”

She also reflected on the core values the school has upheld over the years, emphasizing responsibility, respect, conscious thinking, and sustainability. “For example, QAM has embraced the ‘green school’ initiative, focusing on recycling and reducing the use of paper and plastic. We’ve seen many developments and continue to strive for even greater improvements in the future.”
