The Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Centre at the College of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University (QU) has initiated a new program, ‘Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Online.’ The program will welcome its first cohort of students in the Spring 2025 semester.

This program, which the university’s first fully online offering, aligns with its digitalization strategy, benefiting from the global digital revolution to facilitate and enhance learning opportunities.

Dr. Alaa Ibrahim, acting director of the Arabic Language Centre for Non-Native Speakers centre at QU, stated, "The launch of this program is part of the centre’s ambitious plan to expand its services to a broader audience and attract new learners interested in studying Arabic and exploring its rich culture. However, geographic and geopolitical barriers have previously hindered achieving this goal.”

He added, "The new program will allow these students to achieve their goals through a unique, digitally enhanced learning environment that supports language skill acquisition. He also mentioned that the program was designed according to the highest quality standards by a team of experienced academics in collaboration with the university’s Office for Digital Learning.”

Dr. Alaa emphasized the significant support from the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and the university’s senior management played a crucial role in overcoming numerous obstacles and paving the way for this pioneering project to be launched.

The program’s online admission portal started on 14 September 2024 and will remain open until 14 November 2024, through the following link:https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/international-students/arabic-program
