Al Maha Academy for Boys (AMAB) recorded 100 percent success in the latest AS-Levels and 90 percent in IGCSE examinations.
Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education awards a secondary certificate to a student in an international curriculum passing a minimum of five IGCSE subjects and two AS.
AMAB Principal Shuja Uddin said,"We have every reason to celebrate this leap of success. Over the last three years, Al Maha Boys has been rising steadily. To have recorded 100 percent success is unprecedented."
For the excellent results in Edexcel International qualifications as well as the remarkable achievements in academics and major honours in national and international competitions, AMAB took home the 'School of Excellence' Award at the 4th Ta'allum Awards recently.
Ta'allum CEO Ahmed al Mannai and Director of Education Dr Mohammed Saefan congratulated AMAB through Uddin and his senior leadership team.
The AS pass rate in 2017 was 97 percent, moving from the 78 percent pass in 2016.
"We are witnessing our school moving quite rapidly in the right direction. This is a testament that we are building on our success year to year," Uddin said.
The 1,800-student British curriculum school also prides itself on the 90 percent IGCSE achievement in 2018, the same rate obtained the year before. The 2016 passing rate was 96 percent.
"In AMAB, our students receive quality instruction with the best facilities for learning. The kind of education they are getting builds character. Their confidence and skills stand them in good stead when they go out to participate in Qatar-wide and international events and competitions," Uddin said.
AMAB won the silver award at the championship debate which ran live on television in 2017 Qatar National Day celebrations. In addition, national athletes studying in AMAB bring pride to Qatar.
"Our achievements are placing Ta'allum Group of Schools at the forefront of Qatar education landscape," Saefan said.
Al Maha Boys is one of the Ta'allum schools, which offer British curriculum from Early Years to Year 12 levels. The other two are Al Maha Girls and Al Jazeera Academy, which are also carving names for themselves. A total of 5,400 students are currently enrolled in Ta'allum schools.
Saefan added,"We look to AS-Levels and IGCSE as reliable yardsticks of our performance because they are recognised bodies in determining secondary school qualifications. We are committed to preparing the future leaders of Qatar with the right skills and Islamic values."
