Aspetar, Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, has announced the FIMS Aspetar International Young Investigators Award (YIA), which will be presented during the upcoming 38th FIMS Congress in Dubai. This prestigious award recognises the exceptional contributions of young researchers in the field of sports medicine.

The congress, held from October 24 to 27,will bring together leading experts and practitioners to discuss the latest advancements in sports medicine and science.

Aspetar will honour four outstanding young investigators for their best poster and oral presentations, encouraging the dissemination of innovative research to a global audience. The awardees will receive a certificate of excellence, a prize and an opportunity to present their research during a dedicated session at the FIMS Congress.

Khalid Al-Nema, director of marketing and communication at Aspetar, expressed the hospital’s dedication, stating, "Aspetar, as a leading reference centre for sports medicine and sports science, is committed to nurturing the next generation of researchers in this field. The Young Researchers Award is a significant initiative that recognizes and supports young scientists who are making substantial contributions to our vision of advancing sports medicine globally.”

In addition to the awards, key speakers from Aspetar will participate in various sessions throughout the congress. Dr Omar Al Sayrafi will be part of a panel discussing the future of sports medicine and science in the GCC, while Dr Marco Cardinal will deliver a keynote on protecting young athletes, performance progression, and injury prevention.

Dr Rod Whiteley will present Aspetar’s clinical approach to rehabilitation and return to sports after hamstring injuries, drawing from the management of over 450 athletes at the hospital.

Since partnering with FIMS in 2016, Aspetar has played a vital role in the success of the FIMS World Congress of Sports Medicine through its involvement in keynote lectures, symposia, and workshops.
