DOHA: The Joint Committee for Rain Emergencies at the Ministry of Municipality, comprising the competent municipalities, the Public Works Authority and the security agencies at the Ministry of Interior, has made intensive efforts to drain the accumulated rainwater.
The rain emergency teams continued to work for 27 consecutive hours without stopping, from 1:00 pm on Friday until 4:00 pm on Saturday.
The total amount of rainwater transferred and drained amounted to 29 million and 260 thousand gallons, at a rate of 4,200 transfers.
The number of employees in the participating teams reached 340 employees and workers, while the number of equipment, machinery and pumps used reached 270.
The Unified Call Center at the Ministry of Municipality also received 560 reports requesting the withdrawal of rainwater. They were dealt with professionally immediately and transferred to the relevant authorities to implement and complete them in record time.It is noteworthy that the most influential rainfall concentration was in the central regions of the country.
Reports are received in coordination with the main operations room at the unified call center via number (184) or via social media.
