In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), Qatar University (QU)’s Foundation Programme (FP), under the Deanship of General Studies, is organising ‘Al-Qabas Programme 2024’ in its seventh edition under the theme: ‘To prepare high school students for a successful university experience’.
The student outreach initiative will be open at QU to students of grades X and XI from high school across the country from November 18 to 19, 2024.
The goal of the programme is to raise awareness among Qatari high school students of different skills needed to succeed in STEM and medicine fields, such as math and English skills, in addition to test-taking strategies.
The programme also aims to prepare students for university life by offering a variety of English-language educational sessions that enhance their English and math skills, paving the way for enrolment in STEM and health colleges and enhancing their chances for success in their future colleges.
The Al-Qabas programme 2024 also offers insights into what university life will be like at QU. Through interactive workshops and informative sessions about QU admission requirements, students will gain a better understanding of the expectations placed on university students.
At the end of the two-day event, students will receive a certificate of participation.
The upcoming 2024 edition builds on the success of last year’s event. In 2023, the programme saw participation from 360 students, carefully selected from 20 schools across Qatar.
Students, both male and female, engaged with the university faculty, giving them firsthand exposure to the QU experience.
