The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants Doha Chapter (PICPA Doha)- announced that 15 of its scholars in the Philippines were among the successful candidates in the recently concluded CPA Licensure Examination held by the Board of Accountancy of the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The scholars were among the 3,616 who cracked the tough examination. A total 14,358 candidates took the examination last month.
The PICPA Doha scholarship programme started in 2014 with the aim of supporting the review-related fees of well-deserving BS Accountancy graduates in the Philippines. With the help of benefactors and its members, the professional group has sponsored 65 scholars during the last four years. As many as 49 recipients of the scholarship are now proud Certified Public Accountants.
With an overall passing rate of 62 percent, the list of PICPA Doha scholars who successfully passed the board examination included students from state universities and colleges in different parts of the Philippines. They were Mark Carlo B. Roque (Bulacan State University), Rai Stephany D. Atenciana (Bulacan State University), Charmae C. Bautista (Carlos Hilado Memorial State College), Chris Rey G. Talisay (Carlos Hilado Memorial State College), Alyssa D. Colobong (Divine World College of Laoag), John Andehl P. Aguinaldo (Mariano Marcos State University), Jayson D. Custodio (Mariano Marcos State University), Charlie Joy D. Palalay (Mariano Marcos State University), Kimberly A. Viovicente (Mindanao State University IIT), Ric Jason T. Pangilinan (PHINMA Araullo University), Reychelle R. Sibua (Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila), Cromwell Allan A. Kamatoy (Polytechnic University of the Philippines -Manila), John Paul I. Talinio (Polytechnic University of the Philippines -Manila), James Aaron F. Mendoza (University of the Philippines -Visayas) and Shorin Rio O. Daa (Eastern Visayas State University).
Meanwhile, PICPA Doha has also extended congratulations to the three successful CPA board exam passers from Special Professional Licensure Examination held in Doha in August. The board passers were products of the study group programme of PICPA Doha. The new CPAs are Michelle C. Barretto, Mary Irish P. Gaspar and Michelle Z. Petalver.
