The MIE-SPPU Institute of Higher Education Qatar, affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University, is preparing to host the Vice Chancellor of the university in India, Prof Dr Suresh Gosavi, from October 19 to 21. His visit aims to enhance the academic programmes, quality management and examination systems on the Qatar campus, aligning them with the high standards of the parent institution.

Dr Gosavi will be joined by ex-vice chancellor Prof Dr Nitin Karmalkar on this maiden visit to Qatar. Their itinerary includes meetings with key higher education authorities in Qatar and Qatar University, along with review sessions with the Executive Committee of MIE SPPU Institute of Higher Education Qatar.

MIE SPPU Institute of Higher Education is set to graduate its first batch of undergraduate and postgraduate students in 2025, following the completion of their studies and meeting the examination and research criteria of Savitribai Phule Pune University. The institute has also welcomed around 200 new students into its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the academic session that began in September 2024, bringing the total enrollment to approximately 500 students.

Yasir Nainar, president of the Institute, expressed excitement about the visit, emphasising the opportunity for the academic community to engage with esteemed educators like Dr Gosavi and Dr Karmalkar.

Prof B B Nath, director of the institute, noted that the visit will help introduce new courses and guide faculty in delivering industry-focused education.
