The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in cooperation with Al-Attiya Motors and Trading Company, Qatar’s Kia dealership, has announced the recall of KIA EV6, 2024 model, as the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) may become damaged over time from transient high voltage and thermal cycling.

A damaged ICCU may not be able to charge the 12-voltbattery which can discharge gradually while driving.

The ministry, in cooperation with United Cars Almana, Qatar’s Dodge dealership, has also recalled Dodge Ram 1500, 2019/ 2021-2024 models, over a possible malfunction in the (ABS) control module software, which may disable the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system.

The ministry, in cooperation with Nasser Bin Khaled and Sons Automobiles, Qatar’s Mercedes dealership, has also recalled Mercedes C-Class and E-Class, 2024 models, as the electronic ignition lock control unit software does not meet the factory specification, possibly causing engine not starting and display not reacting.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with Al Fardan Automobiles, Qatar’s BMW dealership, has recalled of BMW R 18, R 18 Classic, R 18 B,R 18 Transcontinental, and R18 Roctane, 2021-2024 model, as insufficient sealing of the reverser control unit may result in moisture penetration causing corrosion of contacts.

The ministry said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.

The ministry said that it will coordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and will communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.
