The Board of Trustees of Qatar Football Association Awards held a regular meeting on preparations for the 2024-2025 season and discussed a number of proposals submitted by the Board members with the aim of developing and contributing towards enhancing the competition and raising the level of technical performance.
A number of decisions were taken, the most important of which are: Instituting an award for the best goalkeeper, as a support and encouragement for goalkeepers to excel and provide the best in addition to creating a spirit of competition between them. It may be noted that this award will be subject to voting by participants in the voting process and according to the approved official mechanism.
It was also decided to add a special award for fans under the name ‘Best Stand’ considering the importance of fan factor and with the aim of encouraging clubs to work to communicate and motivate their fans to be present and support their teams during matches.
It may be noted that this award is not subject to voting process and nominations will be made for it according to the following criteria:
- The average fan attendance during the season according to official statistics approved by relevant authorities.
- Creativity and innovation, including methods of encouragement and means of motivation.
- Social responsibility programmes and various community initiatives.
