DOHA: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education HEDr Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi has honoured 120 outstanding male and female students from the 'Tamooh' programme for the academic year 2023-2024 in appreciation of their efforts in achieving academic excellence in the programme supervised by the College of Education at Qatar University in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, at the ministry’s headquarters.

The number of graduates from the programme since its implementation began in 2010 has reached 1,388male and female students, and the number of students enrolled in the programme from the College of Education until the academic year 2023-2024 has reached 1,470male and female students.

On this occasion, Acting Director of the Scholarships Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher EducationNoura Al Ansari expressedtheministry’s pride in honouring the outstanding students for their academic excellence, which represents the fruit of their efforts and diligence, stressing that this honor aims to motivate these students who will become teachers upon graduation, and will contribute effectively to building the community, as their academic excellence is evidence of their professional excellence as teachers in the future.

Al Ansari sent valuable messages to the outstanding students, urging them to maintain their high standards and make excellence a part of their daily lives. She encouraged them to be role models for others in their pursuit of success and excellence.

Al Ansari praised the role of parents in supporting their children, considering that this achievement reflects the positive family climate that helps students achieve their goals and contributes to building distinguished human competencies capable of achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

As part of this celebration of academic excellence, a group of outstanding students expressed their happiness with the honour they received as a result of their excellence.

Student Al Dana Yousef Amari, a special education student at Qatar University, expressed her pride in being honoured more than once as one of the distinguished students of the Tamooh programme, expressing her desire to contribute to the field of special education and her efforts to achieve a positive impact in the lives of others and help them overcome challenges.

"I was delighted to be honoured by the presence and encouragement of my father, which added special value to this occasion,” said Salem Yousef Al Malki, a student majoring in physical education at Qatar University.

"The ‘Tamooh’ programmegave us a great incentive to join the College of Education, so I advise all students who wish to enter the field of teaching to apply for the programme, as it is an ideal opportunity to develop their skills and achieve their ambitions,” he added.

Student Noura Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, a student in Early Childhood at Qatar University, expressed her great happiness at being honoured for the second time. She also thanked the Ministry of Education for giving her this opportunity, which motivates her to strive to provide the best she has to serve the community and the country through effective contribution in the field of education.

It is worth noting that the 'Tamooh' programme is one of the scholarship programmes that aims to attract male and female students who hold a high school diploma and are accepted into the College of Education at Qatar University, in coordination between the Civil Service Bureau and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education; to graduate human cadres who are educationally and scientifically qualified to work in the field of education, and to meet the need for teaching positions in the educational field.
