Cyrine Cherif guided 10-year-old Van Gallettana Z in two flawless routines to clinch her second victory in the third round of Longines-Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour Season 8 to cement her place at the top of the Big Tour points table, on Saturday.

Following an impressive round against the clock in the 145 cm class at the indoor arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation, Cherif sealed her victory in the leg of the popular series, clocking a time of 42.98 secs in the jump-off. Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani secured second place in Saturday’s round, clocking a time of 35.94 in the jump-off with Emiro Delle Sementarecce, who sustained 8 penalty points. Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi came third astride his ride, Morocco, as he missed the jump-off after finishing the round against the clock in 56.48 secs, incurring 4 penalty points in the initial round.

Earlier, in the Open Class, Jaber Rashid Al Amri and his stallion Canavaro De Muze (E.T.) emerged victorious after completing the round in 51.13 secs despite making three errors.

Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi was joint second with Hamad Towaim Al Marri after both riders registered similar times of 51.27 secs each. Al Qadi guided Chanel D’Altenbach, but the 12-year-old mare made three faults, while Al Marri booked the podium spot with a flawless routine with Baron Z H.

International referee Nasser Al Hajri crowned the Big Tour podium winners.

In the dressage competition, Barbara Ali came first in the preliminary test with 67.391 points, followed by rider Sherifa Ahmed Al Ansari in second place with 65 points, and Maryam Ghanem Al Mannai in third place with 64.131 points.

In the first level of dressage, Jassim Mohammed Al Kuwari stood first with a tally of 67.667 points, Jassim Al Jaham Al Kuwari was second with 67.417 points, and Jessica Waldon came third (65.917 points). In the second level competitions for the same round, Abdullah Khalid Al Jalandani came in first with 71.125 points, followed by Jassim Mohammed Al Kuwari in second with 70.25 seconds, while Humayan Khalifa Al Kuwari came in third with 67.938 points.
