The Qatar Chamber (QC) recently participated in the Qatar-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Tashkent, highlighting efforts to enhance economic cooperation between the two nations. The forum was attended by QC First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari and Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan.
The event focused on fostering economic and commercial ties, promoting investment opportunities, and exploring avenues for greater collaboration between the private sectors of both countries. The discussions underscored the importance of mutual cooperation in strengthening bilateral trade and investment flows. On the sidelines of the forum, several agreements were signed between Qatari and Uzbek companies to further solidify partnerships.
In his address, Mohamed bin Twar emphasised the robust relationship between Qatar and Uzbekistan, which serves as a foundation for fruitful cooperation between their private sectors. He noted that Qatari investors view Uzbekistan as a promising and attractive market, rich with opportunities for growth and development.
Twar stressed the Qatar Chamber’s commitment to supporting these partnerships and facilitating commercial alliances that could boost trade exchanges, which are currently below expectations.
Additionally, Twar called on Uzbek companies to explore investment opportunities in Qatar, highlighting the country’s favorable business environment, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and progressive legislation designed to attract foreign investment. He reaffirmed Qatar Chamber’s readiness to assist Uzbek investors looking to enter the Qatari market.
During the forum, Twar also held discussions with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, where they explored strategies for strengthening economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
Another significant meeting took place between Twar and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Shermatov Sherzod Xotamovich to discuss potential collaboration in the digital and technological sectors.
Furthermore, Twar, accompanied by Qatari businessmen, embarked on field tours to cities like Tashkent, Bukhara, and Samarkand. These tours provided insights into various real estate projects and regional developments.
In Samarkand, Twar met with Deputy Governor Oybek Nematov, while in Bukhara, he engaged with Governor Botir Zaripov to explore investment prospects and deepen bilateral economic ties.
