US President Joe Biden is “deeply concerned” about the publication of US intelligence information about Israel’s retaliatory plans against Iran.

On Saturday, US media reported that the US government is investigating a possible intelligence leak. The top secret documents, dated October 15 and October 16, have been circulating on the internet since Friday and were initially published on the Telegram messaging platform, US broadcaster CNN reported.

It is not yet known exactly how the documents were leaked, White House communications director John Kirby said on Monday.

The US Department of Defense is investigating the incident. It is not yet possible to say whether it was a leak or a hack. Currently, there are no indications that further documents of this kind will be circulated.

The president “remains deeply concerned about any leakage of classified information into the public domain, that that is not supposed to happen, and it’s unacceptable when it does,” Kirby explained.

“So he’s deeply concerned about that, and you can rest assured that he will be actively monitoring the progress of the investigative effort to figure out how this happened,” Kirby added.

A person familiar with the matter, who was not named hy CNN, confirmed the authenticity of the documents, according to the channel. According to the Axios portal, the corresponding Telegram account regularly publishes pro-Iranian content.

Two weeks ago, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards fired around 200 ballistic missiles at the Jewish state. Israel responded by announcing retaliation. It is not known when and how Israel will strike back.
