Ambassador of Kazakhstan HE Arman Issagaliyev has expressed optimism about the future of Kazakhstan-Qatar relations and the continued growth of their strategic partnership.

This came during an event hosted by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Doha on October 23 to celebrate the Republic Day of Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Issagaliyev warmly welcomed distinguished guests, including diplomats, officials, and members of the business community. This year marks the 34th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Declaration of State Sovereignty, a pivotal step towards the country’s independence, celebrated on October 25 each year.

Speaking to Qatar Tribune, Ambassador Issagaliyev reflected on the profound significance of Republic Day, describing it as the most important date in Kazakhstan’s modern history.

"This day symbolizes the moment when my country began to gain state sovereignty and strengthen its independence, playing a key role in our national identity,” he said.

The ambassador highlighted that true success cannot be achieved without independence.

"For our entire country and its residents, this is a great event, because true prosperity, like a strong state, is impossible without independence. We will always honour our Independence and celebrate Republic Day.”

During the reception, Issagaliyev acknowledged the strong and growing ties between Kazakhstan and Qatar.

He recalled the state visit of President HE Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Doha in February, which established the Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

"This partnership lays the foundation for us to enhance our bilateral relationship through innovation, creativity, and mutual growth,” he said.

He also highlighted the Qatar-Kazakhstan Investment Roundtable chaired by President Tokayev in Doha, as well as the visit of His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Kazakhstan in July during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.

The ambassador underscored the strong economic cooperation between the two countries, with joint investment projects exceeding $20 billion in sectors such as telecommunications, energy, transportation, petrochemicals, and agriculture.

Tourism and cultural exchange are also central to the growing bond between the two nations. Ambassador Issagaliyev highlighted that more than 40,000 Kazakh citizens visited Qatar last year, while over 1,000 Qataris and thousands of residents from Qatar visited Kazakhstan.

The ambassador also noted that weekly flights between Almaty and Doha have increased to 14, with more charter flights planned from various Kazakh cities. He invited the guests to explore the rich history, culture, and natural beauty of Kazakhstan’s regions, including Zhambyl and Shymkent.

The ambassador announced that Kazakhstan and Qatar will host Cultural Days in Astana and Doha next year.

In addition to celebrating national sovereignty, Issagaliyev expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people in their quest for independence.

He affirmed Kazakhstan’s unwavering support, stating, "We continue to stand with our Palestinian brothers and sisters… I deeply believe that only through diplomatic means and dialogue can peace and stability be achieved.”

The words of Ambassador Arman Issagaliyev resonate with a commitment to honouring the past while striving for a prosperous future, rooted in independence and solidarity with global struggles for freedom.
