Qatar, as the current chair of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), represented by the Ministry of Finance, chaired a joint meeting of GCC and Caucasus and Central Asia (CCA) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors. The meeting took place as part of Qatar’s participation in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG), being held from October 21 to 26, 2024 in Washington.
The meeting was co-chaired by HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance of Qatar, and Jamshid Kocharov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.
Discussions focused on enhancing trade and financial cooperation between the two regions. Participants also examined the challenges hindering deeper economic collaboration and explored the policies and measures needed to facilitate trade and financial integration.
