Qatar Fuel (Woqod) on Monday added yet another fuel station to its rapidly widening network, taking the total tally across Qatar to 79. With the new facility at the Bypass Road in Al Wakra-2, Woqod has moved a step closer to its objective of having 130 fuel stations by 2020.
The new station at Al Wakra-2 spreads over 15,000 square metres and has three lanes with nine dispensers.
The new station offers round-the-clock services to residents and includes a Sidra convenience store, a manual car wash unit, an oil change and tire repair centre, an LPG cylinder outlet and a shop that sells gasoline and diesel products for light vehicles.
Woqod is currently constructing 18 new petrol stations, a large number of which are expected to become operational during the current year. Nine of them are in the bidding phase and 14 are in the design phase.
Woqod’s CEO Engineer Saad Rashid al Muhannadi said, “Woqod strives to expand its fuel station network in the country to meet the rising demand and achieve the goal of providing customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort.”
Woqod recently hastened the construction of new petrol stations to meet the fuel and energy needs of the country.
“Woqod team would like to extend their gratitude to all governmental and private entities that have contributed and still contributing to the completion of such projects,” Muhannadi said.
