Bayern Munich didn’t show any signs of hangover after a heavy defeat to Barcelona as they thrashed bottom side Bochum 5-0 in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

The Bavarians lost 4-1 at Barca in the mid-week Champions League, but were ahead in the first half through Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala, while Harry Kane, Leroy Sané and Kingsley Coman completed the win after the break.

Bayern top the league, tied with RB Leipzig on 20 points, but ahead on goal difference. Leipzig beat Freiburg 3-1 on Friday.

"(The defeat to Barcelona) It hurt, but we have to look ahead,” Musiala told broadcasters DAZN.

"Scoring goals is fun for us and we want to score as many goals as possible in every game. The clean sheet is also important.”

Scary start before goal festival Bochum had a great chance to take the lead in the eight minute as Moritz Broschinski touched the ball round Manuel Neuer and saw it heading to the goal, but Bayern defender Minjae Kim managed to clear it off the line.

After that scare, the Bavarians found their way to the goal with a wonderful free-kick from Olise, who lifted the ball over the wall and guided it into the net in the 16th.

Bochum were once again dangerous with Broschinski, whose shot was deflected and narrowly flew across Neuer’s goal in the 23rd.

The missed chance became even more costly as Bayern increased their lead from another free-kick, this time with Musiala finishing it off in the 26th.

Kane then practically put the game to bed in the 57th finishing a lovely assist from Musiala, who was back after recovering from a hip injury, for his ninth season goal which ties him with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush at the top of the scorers’ list.

There was still time, however, for Sané to score an absolute stunner, curling the ball into the far corner, and for Coman to complete the scoring with a super strike.

Former Bochum player Leon Goretzka, who has rarely played this season, could have added a sixth, but his effort in the 82nd went over the bar.
