DOHA: Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Milipol Qatar 2024 has opened its doors, welcoming a global array of experts, policymakers, and top companies in internal security and safety technologies.

Organised by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, this 15th edition of Milipol Qatar is set to showcase groundbreaking security advancements, tackle pressing issues in internal safety, and foster strategic partnerships over three days from October 29 to October 31 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

Major General Nasser bin Fahd Al Thani, Chairman of the Milipol Qatar Committee, emphasized Qatar’s dedication to integrating advanced technology within security frameworks to address evolving global threats.

He highlighted this year’s theme, "Technology in the Service of Security," as a reflection of Qatar’s national commitment to enhancing its technological capabilities in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030. "Our focus remains on addressing security challenges through advanced, future-ready solutions," Al Thani stated, "and we are proud to facilitate discussions that bring experts and innovators together under one roof."

A comprehensive security agenda

The three-day event will feature 15 presentations covering a diverse range of security topics, including cybersecurity, civil defense, and border security. The program provides a comprehensive platform for attendees to explore global security trends, exchange knowledge, and network with industry leaders.

A unique addition to this year’s agenda is a special international conference on Artificial Intelligence in Security, held on October 29-30, which will address ethical concerns, legal frameworks, and opportunities in AI-powered security. "With the increasing complexity of security threats, AI offers both tremendous opportunities and challenges," said Al Thani. "Our sessions will explore AI’s potential in law enforcement and its ethical considerations."

Milipol Qatar 2024 has drawn over 250 companies from around the world, including six major national pavilions, showcasing the latest innovations in internal security technology. In addition to the indoor exhibits, an outdoor area is designated to display the Ministry of Interior’s advanced fleet of security vehicles, adding a dynamic, interactive aspect to the event.

The exhibition covers an expansive 23,000 square meters, making it one of the largest in Milipol’s history. This year’s event also welcomes a record-breaking 350 official delegations, comprising high-level figures such as security officials, government representatives, and industry experts, underscoring the event's importance on a global scale.
