Following the inauguration, the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and the guests toured the pavilions of the exhibition, where they viewed the latest equipment and devices displayed, as well as innovative services and systems in internal security and civil defense.

They listened to explanations on the features of the new security systems, their roles, advanced technologies, and the nature of their integration and roles in enhancing internal security, as well as prevention and protection from crimes.

Major-General Nasser bin Fahd Al Thani, chairman of the Milipol Qatar Committee, emphasised Qatar’s dedication to integrating advanced technology within security frameworks to address evolving global threats.

He highlighted this year’s theme ‘Technology in the Service of Security’ as a reflection of Qatar’s national commitment to enhancing its technological capabilities in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

“Our focus remains on addressing security challenges through advanced, future-ready solutions,” he said, adding, “we are proud to facilitate discussions that bring experts and innovators together under one roof.”

The three-day event will feature 15 presentations covering a diverse range of security topics, including cybersecurity, civil defence, and border security. The programme provides a comprehensive platform for attendees to explore global security trends, exchange knowledge, and network with industry leaders.

A unique addition to this year’s agenda is a special international conference on Artificial Intelligence in Security, held on October 29-30, which will address ethical concerns, legal frameworks, and opportunities in AI-powered security.

“With the increasing complexity of security threats, AI offers both tremendous opportunities and challenges,” he said. “Our sessions will explore AI’s potential in law enforcement and its ethical considerations.”

Milipol Qatar 2024 has drawn over 250 companies from around the world, including six major national pavilions, showcasing the latest innovations in internal security technology. In addition to the indoor exhibits, an outdoor area is designated to display the MoI’sadvanced fleet of security vehicles, adding a dynamic, interactive aspect to the event.

The exhibition covers an expansive 23,000 square metres, making it one of the largest in Milipol’s history. This year’s event also welcomes a record-breaking 350 official delegations, comprising high-level figures such as security officials, government representatives, and industry experts, underscoring the event’s importance on a global scale.
