The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) recently held a workshop focusing on the executive action plan for the upcoming phase of the National Health Strategy 2024-2030.
The event, which was attended by strategy outcome leaders and their deputies, was held at the Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center in Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City.
Assistant Minister for Health Affairs at the Ministry of Public Health and Leader of the Strategy’s First Priority, HE Dr Salih Al Marri, opened the workshop on ‘Improved Population Health and Wellbeing’ by presenting the aspirations of the National Health Strategy 2024-2030.
He reviewed the strategy’s progress and its alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2024-2030.
Dr Mariam Abdul Malik, Managing Director of the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and Leader of the Second Priority, delivered a briefing(‘Excellence in Service Delivery and Patient Experience’) on the governance framework of the new strategy, including a comprehensive overview of the National Health Strategy Committee and its reporting structure.
Huda Al Khtheeri, director of the Strategic Planning and Performance and Innovation Department at the Ministry of Public Health and Leader of the Third Priority, presented (‘Health System Efficiency and Resilience’) the outcomes, initiatives, and projects of the strategy, with each priority leader offering insights on their respective priorities.
The workshop reviewed key areas for implementing the National Health Strategy 2024-2030, including the communication plan, strategic alignment, resource allocation, and the next steps for project alignment with the National Planning Council. It featured an interactive session with attendees to ensure inclusivity and to communicate concepts related to processes, work streams, governance structures, and the responsibilities required to achieve the strategy’s goals.
The workshop is part of a series of workshops dedicated to the upcoming phase of the National Health Strategy 2024-2030 for outcome leaders, their teams, sector officials, and partners. The National Health Strategy aims to fulfil the health sector’s ambition to build a health-focused society supported by an integrated health system centred on clinical excellence, sustainability and innovation through a range of initiatives designed to achieve the strategy’s 15 defined outcomes.
