College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q) celebrated 195 highest achieving students at a glittering ceremony.
The students were recognised for their scholastic achievements in the 2017-2018 academic year.
For the second year in a row, the Highest Achiever Scholarship was presented to Electrical Power Systems Technician student Saba Afreen for her remarkable 98.96 percent average.
Scholarships were also awarded to the Highest Achievers from each of the College’s Schools - Business Studies - Ameera Fatima Anaz; Engineering Technology – Arslan Mohammad Zahid; Health Sciences - Sameen Javlikar; Information Technology –Rowida Mohamed Elsharif Yousif.
“We are so very proud of our best and brightest students. Their accomplishments are a testament to, not only their hard work and dedication, but also to the excellent level of instruction offered at the College,” said CNA-Q President Dr Khalifa al khalifa.
ORYX GTL offered four very special awards to students who demonstrate academic excellence as well as a commitment to leadership, entrepreneurship, sport and health and wellness.
In his speech, Mohamed al Enazi, chief administration officer at ORYX GTL, said: “It is our pleasure and honour to participate in CNA-Q awards ceremony 2018 that crowned your efforts and persistence, to learn and develop your abilities and skills in order to promote yourselves and your country to the top ranks and competing in all areas.
“We are delighted to be with you for the fifth year as we honour our students for their achievements. This reflects the strength of the relationship and trust between ORYX GTL and CNA-Q”.
He added, “We believe that human capacity is the stone to building a successful future for any nation and supporting education will create the leaders of the future to support Qatar in becoming a knowledge-based economy, as well as our commitment to achieve the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030”.
Since its inception in 2002, CNA-Q has grown to offer 30 diploma and certificate programmes, graduating thousands of students from full-time programmes who have populated the workforce in Qatar or pursued further education. This year marks the 17th year that CNA-Q has been providing high-quality experiential technical education in Qatar to support the State’s strategic vision to educate, develop and retain young Qataris.
