The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE ) is leading multiple campaigns to combat bullying in schools, as part of the strategic programme "My School, My Community”.

The programme aims to develop a system based on improving the quality of life of learners, their safety and culture, enhancing their community participation, encouraging the participation of parents in their children’s education, and promoting the building of positive values, habits and behaviours.

In this context, educational awareness and guidance plans and programmes have been developed to define bullying and how to prevent it, and to inform parents and society of the seriousness of the behaviour.

The ministry’s School and Student Affairs Department also regularly monitors bullying cases in schools, and provides treatment programmes for bullying students and others for bullying victims, in addition to training psychological specialists to implement these programmes in schools with the aim of providing a safe environment for learning.

It is worth noting that bullying and school violence are among the most serious challenges facing school communities, as they greatly affect students’ psychological and emotional health, and may lead to lower levels of academic achievement and decreased self-confidence.

Bullying takes different forms, including physical, verbal and electronic bullying.

On the occasion of the International Day Against Violence and Bullying, which is held on November 2 of each year, the Ministry called on all workers in the educational field and families to commit to combating bullying in all its forms, and to treat others with kindness and respect; to build a more humane and tolerant society.
