Bait Al-Mashura Journal, published by Bait Al-Mashura Financial Consultations Company, has been ranked first in the Arab world for the specialisation of Islamic economics and finance among 19 Arab countries and more than 1,500 scientific and research institutions.
The rank was awarded by the Arab Citation and Impact Factor (ARCIF), for the year 2024. It was classified in the first quartile (Q1), which is the top quadrantfor the field. It also obtained an impact factor of (0.5926) and succeeded in achieving the accreditation criteria of the (ARCIF) factor, by meeting the 32 global standards required by ARCIF, which aligns with the international benchmarks. Bait Al-Mashura Journal is an international, scientific, peer-reviewed journalfocused on research and studies in the fields of Islamic economics and finance. It is published by Bait Al-Mashura Financial Consultations Company, which was established in 2007 as the first company in Qatar to provide financial consultations compatible with Islamic Sharia.
On this occasion, Dr. Khalid Bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, Editor-in-Chief of Bait Al-Mashura Magazine and Vice Chairman of Bait Al-Mashura Financial Consultations Company, stressed that this achievement is an addition to the scientific and research base of Islamic economics in Qatar. It clearly reflects the country’s leadership and the stimulating environment for scientific research in all fields and aligns with the Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030), which aims to develop academic research activities.
Al-Sulaiti said that the leadership of Bait Al-Mashura Journal in the Arab world reflects its wide impact and outreach in academic circles, as it has taken the lead in its field after undergoing a comprehensive evaluation of more than 5,000 Arab scientific or research journals in various specializations, by assessingthe quality of the research published in the journal based on the number of times it is cited in other research and studies, noting the importance of developing scientific research related to Islamic economics in conjunction with the significant growth and rapid expansion of its global reach.
He pointed out that the State of Qatar is the fifth largest Islamic finance market in the world, with the assets evaluated at 656 billion Qatari riyals (more than 180 billion US dollars) and a growth rate of 3.3% on an annual basis in 2023, which is the latest available data, while the estimates indicate that Islamic banks are expanding all over the world and witnessing an increase in their market share and demand for their innovative financial products.
Takaful insurance companies and Islamic investment firms are also experiencing significant growth worldwide.
He added that Bait Al-Mashura Financial Consultations Company seeks to spread the culture of the Islamic financial industry inside and outside the State of Qatar through professional and cognitive support. As the companyis unique in organizing the most prominent annual event in the Islamic finance sector, which constitutes the largest global professional scientific demonstration witnessed by Doha under the name of the Doha Islamic Finance Conference. The event is a conclave for the most famous pioneers of the Islamic financial industry. On the other hand, Bait Al-Mashura Journal represents one of the effective tools that stimulate the growth of the Islamic economy and finance. It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal specialized in the field of Islamic economics and finance that was launched in 2014.
The journal enjoys great and high interest from supervisory, scientific, academic and professional bodies, and observers great demand from researchers and specialists. It has reached advanced ranks in scientific indices, as it has joined the strongest and most famous scientific digital databases that are internationally and academically accredited. The journal is indexed in the Arab databases (Maarefa, Al-Manhal, DarAl Mandumah) and it is also in the global databases (Ebsco, J-Gate, Crossref, DRJI, Researcher ID, Google Scholar).
The ARCIF impact factoris an initiative of the "Ma’rifa” database for Arabic language academic and research journals. It is the first of its kind impact factor system for assessing the Arabic academic production in line with the international standards.
