DOHA: Chairman of the Qatar Chamber (QC), HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, underscored QC's commitment to enhancing cooperative ties between Qatari businessmen and their French counterparts, aiming to elevate trade exchange between the two countries, which reached approximately QR9.3 billion in 2023, making France an important trade partner for the State of Qatar.
This came during his meeting with a delegation from the Qatari-French Economic League (Cadran) on the occasion of their visit to the country.
The meeting discussed bolstering trade and investment cooperative ties between Qatar and France, in addition to the investment opportunities available in both nations and the potential for collaboration to forge new trade alliances.
Sheikh Khalifa noted that many Qatari businessmen and investors have pivoted toward the French markets, because they are characterized by an attractive investment climate that provides lucrative opportunities for investors.
He hailed the role Cadran plays in bridging the gaps between the Qatari private sector and its French counterpart, as well as in establishing an ironclad foundation for forging alliances and partnerships between Qatari and French companies.
Cadran is an independent, non-profit organization established in 2015, comprising major Qatari commercial institutions operating in France and major French companies operating in Qatar.
Its aim is to organize annual events to enhance cooperation between the companies of the two countries.
