DOHA: The polling stations set by the General Referendum Committee for the draft constitutional amendments for the year 2024 to the permanent constitution of the State of Qatar, have witnessed a large turnout of participating citizens during the first four hours since the start of the voting process at 7am today.

Citizens flocked to the referendum polling stations to cast their votes on the draft constitutional amendments since the early hours of Tuesday morning in an enthusiastic atmosphere that confirms the public's keenness to make this event a success as well as their sense of responsibility towards their homeland, strengthening social cohesion.

The participation in this historic event is a national duty in response to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's call for all citizens to participate in the public referendum on the draft constitutional amendments.

The participants praised the good organisation of the referendum polling stations, which provide easy procedures to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process with complete flexibility, stressing that the process does not take a long time.

The voting process will continue until 19:00 today, after which the designated referendum committees will start the process of counting and tallying the votes, and the General Referendum Committee will announce the results within 24 hours of the referendum's conclusion.
