Referendum: Draft constitutional amendments receive 90.6% approval

DOHA: Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairman of the General Referendum Committee, announced that the draft constitutional amendments to the permanent constitution of the State of Qatar have received a popular approval rate of 90.6 percent of the total valid votes.

He said the referendum saw the participation of 84 percent of citizens eligible to vote, as the percentage of votes in favour of the constitutional amendments reached 89 percent, while the percentage of votes that did not approve reached 9.2 percent, while the percentage of invalid votes reached 1.8 percent.
