President of the 66th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations HE Nassir bin Abdulaziz Al Nasser has described the referendum as one of Qatar’s historical days that embodies the great cohesion between the Qatari people and their wise leadership.He made the comment while participating on Tuesday in the referendum on the draft constitutional amendments to the country’s Permanent Constitution at the headquarters of the First Committee in Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah arena of Al Sadd Sports Club.

He noted the turnout of the Qatari people to cast their votes in the referendum, in an effective and broad response to the call made by the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in this regard. He stressed that the large participation of citizens reflects everyone’s keenness on Qatar’s bright future and the well-being of its present and future generations.

He said the Shura principle is rooted in Qatar’s society, indicating that it is represented in the strong and good relationship between the wise leadership and its loyal people of all stripes.

He concluded his remarks by emphasizing that all Qataris are united for the good of their country, its development, and growth under the wise leadership of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
