The General Referendum Committee, led by Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on Tuesday announced the official adoption of the results of the 2024 referendum on the proposed constitutional amendments to the country’s permanent constitution.

These results were submitted by the Executive Committee following the completion of vote counting and tallying through paper ballots, electronic voting, and the Metrash2 application.

The committee expressed its sincere gratitude to Qatar’s wise leadership and the honorable Qatari people for the success of this national milestone, exemplifying unity and cohesion across all segments of Qatari society.

In a statement, the Minister of Interior said that the results of the referendum showed the participation of 84 percent of citizens eligible to vote, with the percentage of votes in favor reaching 89 percent, the percentage of votes in opposition reaching 9.2 percent, and the percentage of invalid votes reaching 1.8 percent. He added that with this result, the constitutional amendments were approved with popular approval of 90.6 percent of valid votes.
