Tribune News NetworkDohaThe Indian Sports Centre (ISC), which functions under the aegis of the Indian embassy, and ‘Manjappada Qatar’, a fan group of the Indian expatriates from the southern Indian state of Kerala, celebrated the 75th year of India’s Independence ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and ‘100 days to go to World Cup’ with the children attending the ‘Young Kombans Summer Football Coaching Camp’ at Olive International School, Doha, on August 13. Ambassador of India to Qatar HE Dr Deepak Mittal inaugurated the event and appreciated the ISC and ‘Manjappada’ for jointly organising and facilitating the free one-month summer football camp and its valuable contribution to football. He also felicitated the summer camp coaches Suneesh Sivan and Suvith Vazhappully.Children from the coaching camp, known as ‘Young Kombans’, were awarded with certificates and medals by the Indian Embassy Defence Attaché Captain Mohan Alta, ISC Vice President Sheji Valiyakath and other members of the ISC Managing Committee. Representative of A1 Engineering, the Title Sponsor of the event, Radio partners Radio Suno and Olive Suno and other sponsors were present on the occasion. A friendly match between the ISC and the Radio Partners came to an end with the magnificent win by the former. Prizes were also distributed to the 75 winners from the Radio Suno and Radio Olive listeners who won the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 75 years of Independence Celebrations On Air Quiz Competition’.ISC Vice President Sheji, Chairman Mohammed Easa and Managing Committee members Sreenivas, Boban, Rajesh, Sippy Jose, Manikandan and Nisha, Manjappada President Deepesh Govindan Kutty, Vice President Jose Francis, Secretary Akhil Noordeen, were present at the event.
