The Artistic Gymnastics Coaches Course, organized by the Qatar Gymnastics Federation in cooperation with the Asian Federation, was launched on Sunday and is being held from November 10-14 at the Gymnastics Training Center Hall.
Ali Al Hitmi, President of the Qatar Gymnastics Federation and First Vice President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), inaugurated the course in the presence of international expert Eric Bishrwan, and Abeer Al Bouainain, Secretary-General of Qatar Gymnastics Federation.
In addition to the participants in the course, there are coaches from Pakistan - The Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, India, Iran, Bangladesh, and Jordan - in addition to Qatar.
Ali Al Hitmi welcomed the participants, as well as international expert Eric Bishrwan, who will give lectures to the participants, and pointed out the need to benefit from this course, because it is the best in Asia for women’s artistic gymnastics coaches.
Eric gave an introductory speech about the course and the foundations that will be worked on throughout the course, calling for full commitment from everyone to achieve the desired benefit.
He spoke about the importance of the course. He said: "We hold such courses and implement pre-prepared training programs to raise the technical level at the continental level.”
Qatar is considered one of the few Arab countries that hosts this advanced type of course.
Ali Al Hitmi, said: "We hope that the participants in this course will benefit from the level of participation and high experience that Eric possesses, and that he is the best in artistic gymnastics and has an honorable history. It is expected that the course will rise to the highest level in artistic gymnastics training, whether during theoretical or practical lectures. There is great interest within the Federation in this course, and it is a great honour for us within the Federation that the course is held in Qatar because this indicates appreciation.
"The Asian Gymnastics Federation of Qatar, and the Asian Federation’s approval for Qatar to host this course came because of its high infrastructure capabilities that serve any course on the academic and scientific level, and if you notice the extent of the fascination of the coaches participating in the course with the gymnastics training hall and the available capabilities as well as the latest equipment, this hall is the first in the Middle East, and therefore the Asian Federation’s approval to host came after Doha has already become the capital of sports, especially gymnastics.”
He added that the coaches participating in this course are waiting for a task that is not easy at all because the course will be very difficult because the coaches who will attend this course were chosen after being evaluated by their federations to participate in this type of course, and this matter will make the participants in the course at the peak of focus to benefit from the lectures they will attend in the hope of clearing them.
