The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in cooperation with United Cars Almana, Qatar’s Dodge dealership, has announced the recall of 2023-2024 Dodge Ram 1500 models. The recall addresses a malfunction where the turn signal does not self-cancel and remains active after a completed turn, which may cause surrounding drivers to misinterpret the vehicle’s intended direction, potentially leading to accidents without prior warning.

The ministry, in cooperation with Al-Attiya Motors and Trading Company, Qatar’s Kia dealership, has also recalled 2024-2025 Kia EV9 models. The recall is due to an error with the Integrated Electronic Booster (IEB) software, which may cause insufficient brake pressure when using the Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) function, resulting in an increased stopping distance.

Additionally, the MoCI, in cooperation with Skyline Automotive, Qatar’s Hyundai dealership, hasrecalled 2009-2014 Hyundai Tucson, Azera and Genesis Coupe models. The recall is due to a potential electrical short in the HECU module, which could increase the risk of an engine compartment fire, though this occurrence is rare.(QNA)
