Berlin: The last Ferrari driven by Formula One great Michael Schumacher will be auctioned in New York from Thursday by the Sotheby’s auction house. The Ferrari 248 F1 was Schumacher’s car in his last season with the Italian outfit in 2006, with which he won five races. With this chassis, the German surpassed Ayrton Senna’s pole position record - with Lewis Hamilton later setting the current best mark of 104. The seven-time world champion won five consecutive titles with Ferrari between 2000 and 2004, but couldn’t take his eighth trophy with the 248 F1, with the title going to Fernando Alonso in 2006.
