The Amiri Guard concluded its 2024 infantry competition and celebrated the graduation of four specialised courses in a ceremony held at the Barzan camp on Thursday.

The graduating courses included a Protection, Rapid Intervention, and Convoy course in partnership with the French Armed Forces; a Basic Snipers course conducted with the French side; a Facilities Security course; and the Advanced Khazanah course. The ceremony was attended by Commander of the Amiri Guard HE Lt. Gen. Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani.

The event was also attended by senior officials, including the Deputy Commander of the Amiri Guard, the Inspector General, various assistants to the Commander, and the Internal Security Attaché at the French Embassy. Officers from the Qatari Armed Forces and the Internal Security Force ‘Lekhwiya’ were also present.

During the ceremony, Chairman of the Infantry Competition Committee Major Abdullah Thawab Al Qahtani delivered a speech emphasising the significance of the annual competition, which drew participation from nine platoons representing various departments and units. He noted that the competition aligns with the Amiri Guards’ commitment to enhancing preparedness and discipline as they gear up for the Qatar National Day parade.

In closing, Commander of the Amiri Guard awarded the top winners across various competition categories and honoured the first-place graduates from each course, extending his best wishes for their continued success.
