In a world of complex business environments, fast changing global inter-dependencies, social inequality and environment upheavals, one constant source of ethical, inspirational and globally acclaimed leadership is the legacy of the late Ratan Tata.

Ratan Tata, passed away on Oct 9th, 2023 but the leadership lessons his life has provided are deeply embedded in business ethos across the world.

Embedded in the generations of workers and their families who have been touched by the Tata brand to the business cases taught in business schools across the world, the Tata ethos lives on.

As a tribute to this legend, Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC)-Qatar, hosted Harish Bhat, Advisor at Tata Sons, the main holding company of Tata group, as a keynote speaker to share some valuable lessons from Ratan Tata, that businesspersons and professionals across the world could reflect and learn from. The Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar, HE Vipul, was the chief guest and inaugurated the session.

The Ambassador reflected on the unparalleled contribution of Ratan Tata not just to India but to the world and encouraged all the attendees to learn from this inspirational leader.

Key note speaker Harish Bhat, who is also the author of "TATA Log”( The people of Tata) provided a number of actual events, where Ratan Tata demonstrated immense integrity, concern for people, business acumen, commitment to cancer research and humility in his interactions and dealings with people from different walks of life.

The enlightening session byHarish who is a director at Tata Group and a corporate leader in his own right, hadtouching reflections to share from his interactions with Ratan Tata.

The session hosted by the President of IBPC Qatar, Thaha Muhammed, also included individual tributes and reflections by personalities in India and Qatar who have had direct contact withRatan Tata.

These included a business leader in Qatar, whose father worked in a TATA factory and has seen as child the fair treatment provided to his father as factory worker. A woman entrepreneur who benefitted from woman empowerment initiatives from foundations run by the TATA group.

A Qatar based story included Ratan Tata visiting a Jaguar & Range Rover showroom in Doha unannounced and interacting with staff who did not recognize him. He took their leave, after giving a handwritten note thanking them for the impressive showroom for this TATA brand.

With over 400 participants joining in from multiple countries, the online session witnessed an endless flow of written tributes in the chatroom as well.
