Embassy of Hungary in Doha hosted a Hungarian-Qatari business matchmaking forum and B2B dinner at the Diplomatic Club in Doha on Tuesday. The NEXT-KPI programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary wholly sponsored the event, while Mohammed Al Mohannadi, acting CEO and Jose Iralde, Chief Strategy Officer of Hassad Food have supported the visit of the Hungarian delegation.
The delegation consisted of heads of companies from the Hungarian food and agriculture sector that produce canned vegetables, pasta products and have expertise in seed processing and applying AI technology in leaf-level farming. HEPA (Hungarian Export Promotion Agency) also delegated a participant in order to meet the key Qatari players in the food industry.
Hungarian and Qatari participants had the opportunity to discover potential new areas for future cooperation and learn more from each other about the latest industrial trends in the respective countries.
The event is in line with the Embassy’s ongoing effort to promote economic cooperation between Hungary and Qatar and enhance the prospects for mutually beneficial partnerships. The Hungarian delegation has successfully concluded their two-day visit to Doha during which they introduced their innovative products and services.
At Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), Ali Saeed Bu Sharbak Al Mansori, Acting General Manager of QCCI, warmly welcomed the delegation which later also visited the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) and the headquarters of key industry players Hassad Food, Al Khalaf Group, Lulu and Lifco.
The innovative technologies showcased by the Hungarian guests have garnered significant interest from the Qatari industry experts, especially during their visit to Hassad’s vegetable and fodder farms. The B2B meetings have been very productive, generating exciting opportunities for future cooperation between the two countries.
Kata PÁL, the Trade and Economic Attaché at Embassy of Hungary was hopeful that “this visit will lead to further business engagements and partnerships between Hungarian and Qatari companies in the agritech and food
industry.”
Overall, the Hungarian delegation’s visit was a great success, strengthening the already strong ties between Hungary and Qatar, and opening up new avenues for collaboration.
