The 10th Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee will further boost the already close and outstanding Qatar-Turkiye cooperation, said Shura Council Member and Chairman of the Qatari-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Group HE Eng. Ahmed bin Hitmi Al Hitmi.

Al Hitmi added the meeting reflects the deep and robust historical relations between the two brotherly countries, based on the foundations of mutual respect and common interests.

He added the Supreme Strategic Committee has manifested, over the past years, that it is an effective platform for pushing forward bilateral cooperation across vital fields including economy, trade, education, culture, defense and security among others - an affirmation of both sides’ common will to deepen cooperation and beef up regional stability.

The Committee is highly important, given the two countries’ common ground under the leadership of His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President HE Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with both leaders keen to back bilateral cooperation and strategic partnerships to achieve the interests of the Qatari and Turkish peoples.

The two leaders directives have been the greatest incentive for fruitful cooperation that included the exploration of new horizons for economic and investment integration, the activation of joint initiatives on sustainable development and the enhancement of bilateral cultural and scientific exchange.

Highlighting the robust existing cooperation between the Shura Council and the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, Al Hitmi spoke about the increasing momentum of mutual visits by the two sides and their coordination on various issues, in the interest of the two friendly peoples and the Islamic nation.

In this context, His Excellency noted that he topped a Shura Council delegation in a February 2024 visit to the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, intended for exchanging expertise and enhancing mutual understanding and international cooperation. During the visit, the Shura Council delegation held talks with Turkish lawmakers and state officials to discuss issues of common interest.

He voiced hopes that both sides would realize further achievements and joint projects that attain development objectives for both sides and affirm their solid strategic partnership as a fundamental pillar of regional stability and prosperity.
