Woqod (Qatar Fuel) has opened a new fuel station in Hazm Al Markhiya on Wednesday, raising its network of petrol stations to 81.
Woqod CEO Saad Rashid al Muhannadi, said, “Woqod aspires to expand its petrol station network in the country to meet the rising demand for petroleum products and achieve the goal of providing customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort.
“Woqod has recently accelerated the process for the construction of new petrol stations to meet the fuel and energy needs of the country.”
Hazm Al Markhiya petrol station is spread over an area of 5,000 square metres and has three lanes with nine dispensers that will serve Hazm Al Markhiya and its neighbourhood.
The new petrol station offers round-the-clock services to the residents, and include Sidra convenience store, manual car wash, and LPG cylinder sales, in addition to sale of gasoline and diesel products for light vehicles.
Muhannadi said Woqod is currently overseeing the implementation of 16 new petrol stations, most of these stations are expected to be operational in 2019, noting that there are six stations in the bidding phase and 26 stations in the design phase.
“As part of its strategic expansion plan, Woqod is targeting to complete 130 fuel stations by the end of 2020”.
